Sad truths end a happy year.
I promised to answer when media feeds and when it eats and to tie my entries together, so here come sad truths.

In the Dove Self-Esteem Fund, children’s minds have been affected by the stereotype that only those who are tall, fair, long-haired and thin are beautiful, and that is one of the reasons why more and more children are going through problems like anorexia, etcetera.

I know some of those who have gone through tough experiences wish they had never felt the hurt and the pain, but I know of a few who are thankful for having gone through those trials. Keep Holding On and Way Back Into Love could be songs for those who are thankful and hopeful that they will indeed find ways to fix the chaos in their lives, while I think those who look at their troubles as punishment need to learn a few things from Q&A because experience really can be one the best teachers.

It saddens me that suffering is needed for some people to come to their senses. Just like in the photo of the 9-11 tragedy, the story of A Walk To Remember, Finding Nemo and Somebody Should Have Taught Him, people had to die or get lost before the lead characters realized that they had no way of taking back what had already happened. In all these entries, except for Finding Nemo, the characters were not given another chance to say “I love you” or simply say what they felt. It hurts that it is mostly after something bad has happened that most of us turn to our faith. It is true, you do not know what you have got until it is gone.

The media has always been something that got people thinking since it feeds the minds of those who watch, look and hear, but it also eats. Eleanor Roosevelt once said that you should not let anyone make you feel inferior without your consent, and I think this should be so with the media. The media feeds us information and emotions constantly, but it eats only if we allow it. In media awareness, I have learned to filter what I would like to believe in the media. By reading my entries, I hope you did too.

This year is through and just as the Doodle would like to wish in times of its troubles; my media log has met its FIN.
