Keep Holding On

You're not alone, together we stand. I'll be by your side. You know I'll take your hand. When it gets cold and it feels like the end, there's no place to go. You know I won't give in. No I won't give in.

Keep holdin' on, ‘cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through. Just stay strong ‘cause you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you. There's nothing you can say, nothing you can do. There's no other way when it comes to the truth. So, keep holding on ‘cause you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through.

So far away, I wish you were here before it's too late. This could all disappear before the doors close and it comes to an end. With you by my side, I will fight and defend. I'll fight and defend.

Hear me when I say, when I say I believe. Nothing's gonna change, nothing's gonna change destiny. Whatever's meant to be will work out perfectly.

I did not know Avril Lavigne could ever sing a song for a movie. I thought she would always just stick to the Sk8r Boi (or girl) wild side. I was surprised when I heard this song. I first heard it on the radio, and I knew it was her because of her accent and there was just something very “Avril” about it. I did not know this was a song for Eragon until a friend, Xtina, told me.

Forget about the whole Eragon thing for a moment. If you have ever heard this song, you probably have already realized that it has quite a nice melody. The instruments that were used in the song and the way they came together create a very moving effect. I personally wanted to hear the song again after the first time I heard it, and I think it is one of the songs that you just want to sing along to – one of the songs whose lyrics you just have to memorize.

I did hear it over and over, and I even read the lyrics lots of times, too. The lines “There's nothing you can say, nothing you can do. There's no other way when it comes to the truth.” really struck me the first time I read through the lyrics. Though many people try to conceal the truth, it will always find a way out. In media, no matter how hard the practitioners try to present the message in a very subtle manner, the viewer will always find out what they are trying to say.
