Doomsday Feeling

I got this photo off one of my sources for the research paper in English. The twin towers were a big part of my favorite city, New York, so when I saw this photo, I was really moved.

This shot basically consists of candles and a photo of the twin towers. There is not much light in this shot though there are candles. The only light part here is the sky in the photo of the twin towers. It is the only thing that is different in the picture, so the viewers are easily drawn to it. If you focus on what surrounds the towers, you will see lots and lots of candles. This was the time when those who have lost hope that their friends and relatives would come out of the smoke and debris mourned and grieved for their losses. This shot was taken at eye level, but it does not seem so because there are three levels where the candles are placed.

Everyone who knows about this tragedy will remember this forever. I think that day changed lots of people’s lives, but I find it sad that they had to realize everything in this way.
